Geothermal Energy

The need for Energy and consumption is increasing year after year throughout the world. This trend will continue in the years and decades to come. There is a consensus in our world about meeting the increasing demand through renewable and environment friendly energy resources. Renewable energy is replacing fossil based oil and coal.

In parallel to other countries, energy consumption of Turkey is also on the rise where substantial growth rates are realized and huge investments in many sectors are implemented. Power consumption of Turkey was 265 billion kWh in 2015. This figure is expected to reach 450 billion in 2021. Energy import bill of Turkey is over 38 billion dollars annually. Turkey will be able to reduce this bill by replacing some portion of its imports with renewable energy production. This action entails more efficient exploitation of renewable energy potential through further exploration and R&D work. Further progress in this field, will enable Turkey to reduce its energy bill thus contributing to redress the foreign deficit issue.
